This video is about a school district using the ipod Touch with the students with in the school who have been diagnosed with Autism. The ipods have many apps within their data base which are specific to those students who have autism. Some of these applications actually are able to replace many traditional methods of teaching. There is an application for the students schedule; this will replace many of the picture schedules that are displayed within the classroom. There is also a communication application which the students can use to communicate if they are non verbal. This application can replace the more traditional and larger Dynovox communication devices. Due to the success of this school’s pilot program, the school is actually looking into purchasing ipod Touch’s for an entire classroom so that those students with and without other disabilities can benefit from their use.
